For environmental protection

The Institute of Building Technology (ITB = Instytut Techniki Budowlanej) – a research company under the supervision of the Polish Ministry of Investments and Development – has issued Aluprof, a manufacturers of aluminium systems, with an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) of type III in accordance with ISO 14025 and EN 15804 standards.

It is valid for five years and describes not only the energy and resource consumption of the manufacturer’s façade, window and door systems, but also the emission of the products into the environment – over the entire product life cycle, from raw material extraction through production and use to disposal/recycling. The certificate serves as a transparent, independent and comprehensible source for building owners and architects who compare different models with each other in the planning phase. The information also serves as the basis for a sustainability assessment of buildings.
“We have been committed to sustainable development for many years, because protecting our ecosystem is very important to us,” explains Bożena Ryszka, Head of Marketing at Aluprof. “In fact, our customers are also placing ever greater emphasis on the environmental compatibility of our products. On the one hand, this is due to increased public awareness, but on the other hand also to current building regulations. The fact is that architectural aluminium system solutions for energy-efficient and passive buildings are increasingly in demand.”
